Stone &
Company, Inc., a family owned and
operated business, has been serving
Southwestern Pennsylvania area with
construction products to residential and
commercial market since the 1920's.
Originally, the company started out as a
partnership called Stone & Work that
brokered lumber and coal. In the 1930's,
C. M. Stone bought-out his partner and
in the 1940's his son Wendell came
aboard. After serving in World War II,
Wendell came back to the states and
set-up the original concrete plant which
is still operating in Connellsville,
Pennsylvania. Wendell's two sons, Mark
and Greg, started working for the
company while attending high school in
the early 1970's. In 1974, Stone &
Company incorporated with Wendell
overseeing the Lumber Brokerage and
Hardware Store while Mark and Greg took
over the Concrete operations. Being
young and aggressive, Mark and Greg
started a large expansion of the company
starting in 1989.
Since 1989, our company has grown to
include a total of
